Junior Football Latest News

Power to the Girls!

Remember these faces – you could be looking at a future Matilda!

U8 Girl Power are the junior force in a formidable line-up of female footballers spanning the
generations at Bardon La Trobe, including the U10 Lightning, U15 Div 1 Girls and Women’s O30’s
teams.

Made up of a group of friends from Grade 2 at Rainworth State School, Girl Power are a newly-
formed team this year, and have jumped into the game boots and all under the trusty guidance of
Coach Kate. If you’ve seen them play, you’ll know all about their signature cartwheel celebrations
whenever they score a goal, and post-match water fights.

They’ll be on the sidelines for Soccer Sunday (this Sunday 11 October) supporting their mentors, the
U15 Div 1 Girls as they battle it out in a top of the table clash against Samford. The Girl Power team
formed a bond recently when they were invited to a training session with the U15’s – and with the
U15’s often appearing as referees as well, this alliance between the two teams looks set to continue
for years to come.

The strength of female football across the club is growing year on year, and that’s reflected in the
brand new amenities with full facilities to cater for all our female players.

Join us this Soccer Sunday as we celebrate all our female players from the young to the young at
heart. Kick-off is at 10:30am, and there’s a free drink on offer for all girls (U18) who attend.
