Club Volunteers: Join the Team Behind the Teams

At Bardon Latrobe FC, we’re incredibly proud to be a community-run club. Everything that happens at BLFC — from lining fields and cooking sausages, to coaching our kids and keeping things running behind the scenes — is made possible by volunteers. It’s thanks to this incredible community effort that we can keep fees affordable, offer such a great football experience, and remain a welcoming place for players of all ages and abilities.

If we’re going to keep that going, we need your help. Whether you’ve got a few hours a week or just want to lend a hand occasionally, there’s a place for everyone to pitch in. Check out the roles below — if you see something that suits you, we’d love to hear from you!

Current Volunteer Roles

Assistant Treasurer

We’re looking for a volunteer Assistant Treasurer to help manage the finances of our growing club. This new role will support the Treasurer and involves:

  • Processing invoices
  • Reconciling bank accounts and data from our point-of-sale and registration systems
  • Assisting with budgeting and monthly reports

Perfect for someone studying accounting, bookkeeping or a related field — you’ll gain hands-on experience while playing a meaningful role in the club’s success. Full training and support provided.

📧 To express interest, contact Ian at treasurer@bardonlatrobe.org.au

Child Safety Coordinator

This is a vital role, helping us ensure every adult volunteer has a valid Blue Card (which is free for non-profits). It’s mostly admin — we already have systems in place to track this. The Child Safety Coordinator is also the main point of contact and advocate for child safety at the club.

You’ll be supported in the role and make a big impact by keeping our club safe for all kids.

Referees for Junior Games (Paid Role)

We’re on the lookout for referees for our Sunday junior matches (ages 13–18). These are paid positions, with rates depending on the age group and your role (Centre or Assistant Ref).

While it’s a paid job, it’s also a crucial part of keeping our club running — no ref, no game!

Not suitable for MiniRoos players due to the age difference, but perfect for teens and adults who want to stay involved in football.

How to Help

Even if none of the roles above are quite right for you, we’d love to hear from you. There’s always something going on — coaching, field setup, admin, events, and more. As our President Gerard says, “many hands make light work.”
