Football Queensland has today confirmed the further suspension of all football activity in Metro, South Coast and Sunshine Coast regions until at least next Monday, 17 March due to the ongoing impacts of ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred including flooding and damage to many clubs.
The decision to extend the suspension of all football activity across South East Queensland has been made to prioritise the ongoing safety of all members of the football community and to support impacted clubs in their recovery efforts.
No training sessions are permitted to be held this week in line with the suspension of football, unless Football Queensland has provided explicit approval in writing, based on a demonstration of a club’s ability to safely host sessions through completion of the club damage report form.
In some cases, local councils may not permit access to grounds and will keep grounds closed. Clubs and participants are reminded of the requirement to follow advice from local councils regarding access to council grounds.
