Become a Club Referee

Love the game of football? Looking for a challenge? Looking for some extra cash? Become a referee!!! This is more than just a job - it’s a chance to learn leadership skills, gain confidence, and stay connected to the beautiful game. Refereeing is fast-paced, fun, and flexible. Best of all you get paid for every game.

What is a Club Referee?

A Club Referee is registered to Bardon Latrobe and helps officiate games across multiple age groups, depending on your age you would referee:

  • Miniroos (U6–U12) – centre referee
  • Juniors (U13–U18) – centre referee & assistant referee
  • Seniors – centre referee (on occasion when not allocated by Football Queensland) & assistant referee

Most of our referees also play at the club, but you’re welcome no matter your background - as long as you know the game. The minimum age to be able to referee is the U12 playing age group.

What support do I receive?

And for those that are keen to take their refereeing to the next level, Football Queensland offer a formal pathway beyond a club referee to a junior football match official (level 4), senior football match official (level 3) and more advanced levels.

How can I sign up as a Club Referee?

Each year in Term 1, before the season begins, we open our Club Referee Expression of Interest form. EOI has now closed for , look out for next season.
