School holiday football clinic

Bardon Latrobe Football Club’s school holiday football clinic is now open for registration.

This offer is for all our junior players and gives them the opportunity to do what they love this school holiday, play football. Bardon Latrobe’s senior coach Mark Strickland (FFA B licence holder) and Eamonn McCaffrey the BLFC junior coordinator have teamed together to provide you a footballing clinic that will be affordable, technical and fun.

The clinics will run Tuesday 4, Wednesday 5 and Thursday 6 July. If one of those days is “rained off” Friday 7 Jul will be used as the wet weather day. The cost is $50 per day per child or $120 for the three days. Not only will the players receive quality coaching, but this will include a light lunch each day

About the Clinic

Players will arrive each day at 0850 – 0900, they will be booked in and booked out at the end of the day at 1450 – 1500, I.E. the nominated guardian must sign the players in and out.

The mornings will be about coaching the players the technical side of football. We will cover the four core skills that are incorporated into the FFA Skills Acquisition Program (passing or striking the ball, dribbling, 1 V 1 and first touch)

The afternoons will be game type activities where the coaches can assess if the morning sessions have been understood and can be put into practice via games.

Each day will consist of an hour lunch break where the club will provide lunch for your child.

Meal selections will be provided on the day at registration where parents/guardians will select their child’s choice for that day. Lunch breaks will also consist of a football themed quiz that always proves to be very popular with the players.

Mark will oversee the programme; he brings a wealth of experience as a State and Representative Head coach in the NT, Victoria, Canberra and Townsville, 2008 – 2012. Sessions will be set for each age group, under 7, 8-9, 10-11, under 13, under 15, each age group will have a coach assigned to you for the 3 days.

About the Clinics

Who is it for? The clinics are aimed at all the children within BLFC, children from other clubs can register but cost is a flat $150 for the 3 days.

When? Tue 04 – Thu 06 July 17, 0850 – 1500 daily.
