Bardon up for the Cup

New Capital Head Coach, Mark Strickland, takes charge of his first Bardon competitive game this Sunday, February 12, as the team travels to face St George Willawong FC.

The game is Round 2 in the FFA Cup preliminary rounds and the recently promoted St George (now in Capital Three) will no doubt be a tough first test.

Last season they surprised many by topping the table at the end of the season with an impressive 136 goals scored, 2 points ahead of favourites Caboolture FC.

They will face many new faces with up to 9 players potentially making their competitive debuts for Bardon. The squad should also include a couple of our former U18s as well 5 returning players from last season.

One piece of team news is confirmed that Jason Walker will take the armband for Bardon.

“The boys are ready after our pre-season, and whilst we are unbeaten in those games, competitive matches against in-form teams are a different matter,” Head Coach Mark Strickland said.

Kick off will be at 6pm, St George’s Park, Willawong. Hopefully the predicted extreme weather will have abated by kick off.
