Bardon Latrobe reserves kicked off their season at Prentice Park. A strong looking reserves side dominated the early possession. Valvoletti and Miranda combined well upfront to create a number of chances.

Against the run of play North Brisbane broke the deadlock in the 41st minute with a classic counterattack. Taking the 1-0 lead into the break.

In the second half the energetic Elliott converted for Bardon Latrobe with a smart finish on 53′ before Lindsay put Bardon Latrobe in the lead with a long range effort on 65′. Bardon Latrobe held onto the lead to win the game 1-2.

Firsts

Final score: North Brisbane 3 – 1 Bardon Latrobe (Moloney)

Starting XI – Bounds, Irelandes, Rielly, Hamilton, Cooper, Centenaro, Crétois (C), Roshier, Moloney, Jones, Catalano

Substitutes – Meanger, Stuart, Gullo, Miranda

North Brisbane started the game at a blistering pace. Pushing Bardon Latrobe and stopping the defenders playing out. After only 7 minutes the ball fell to the North Brisbane left-back who curled a sweet shot into the top corner.

Buoyed by the goal North Brisbane continued to push and were rewarded when the striker beat Bounds with a low hard drive in the 23rd minute. Irelandas received the games first yellow and Cooper had to come off with an injury, replaced by Stuart.

Bardon Latrobe finally got an effort away on the 28th minute and began to rally.

Jones then released Moloney who fired home into the bottom corner to give Bardon Latrobe hope.

After the half time break North Brisbane started the second half as they had the game. After Stuart’s defensive header went backwards the North Brisbane striker poked the goal home past Bounds.

The second half passed without Bardon Latrobe really being able to break down North Brisbane’s staunch defence. Meanger and Gullo were introduced for Centenaro and Irelandes in a change of formation and whilst Bardon Latrobe looked comfortable in possession space was hard to find and chances were few and far between.

North Brisbane ran out 3 -1 winners.
