Junior player of the year

Congratulations to Sierra McCaffrey who recently collected her Bardon Latrobe FC Red Rooster Junior Footballer of the Year trophy from Jay Sanders, business owner of Red Rooster, Ashgrove.

Sierra was unfortunately unable to collect this trophy at the BLFC junior end of season celebration as she was in Sydney competing in the national school football championships representing Queensland in the state girl’s U12 team. This is a highly competitive tournament where each player undergoes a rigorous selection process from local district to state trials. This year the Queensland girl’s U12 team won the title!

President Phil Cowlishaw said that Sierra is an emerging talent in our juniors and the club is working hard to provide an environment where these rising stars can flourish and develop.

“Players like Sierra don’t come along often. As a club, we have to ensure we provide facilities and coaching that will encourage all of our young female footballers to stay at Bardon Latrobe FC and make the transition to the senior team.”

“Sierra has had a fantastic season with us winning a Grand Final and representing Queensland at a national competition. I could not be happier for her.” President Cowlishaw said.
