Reserves fall just short against Snakes

On a sunny spring afternoon at Terabla Park, Bardon Latrobe Capital Three reserves met Caboolture FC Reserves for the fourth and final time of the season.

Having won the last time the sides met, in the major semi-final, the reserves were in confident mood.

Lining up with Webber, Price, Elliott (C), T. Powell, Eiszele, Vargas, Hutton, McDermott, Silva, Field, Boardman with Yasse, Buckman and Irvine Casey on the bench.

Bardon Latrobe started in lively fashion. Eiszele making a couple of runs and a good chance that dropped for Hutton but that was saved quite comfortably by the Caboolture keeper.

Caboolture FC then had a good couple of chances of their own. The first pulling a good save from Webber and the second being stopped by Pricey’s rear.

Bardon again pushed in the next 10 minutes with chances for Field and Yasse to open the scoring.

However, after that spell Caboolture FC took charge and after a mix up in the Bardon Latrobe box they were able to finish from close range and open the scoring.

The sides came in to the half time break with Caboolture a goal to the good.

Then the next incident came when Ben Price brought down the Caboolture FC striker in the box.

The penalty was converted to put the Snakes 2 – 0 up.

Bardon Latrobe didn’t have to wait much longer to get on the score sheet themselves. Striker Austyn Boardman was baring down on goal when the Caboolture FC keeper came and claimed man and ball. A hefty challenge and the referee pointed straight to the spot.

Bardon Latrobe then pushed for an equaliser. Caboolture looked dangerous on the counter attack. Including when Sam Eiszele hit a great volley that went just over the bar.

As much as they pushed they couldn’t find the equaliser and Webber produced another great save to keep the score at 2-1 before the final whistle.
