U8s take Bardon ‘home’

It was a case of going back to where it all began recently when two of our U8s sides faced off at Suncorp Stadium.

The teams outside the stadium.

During half time in the Brisbane Roar vs Western Sydney Wanderers the sides took to the pitch for a quick game of mini-roos.

One of our founder clubs, Latrobe FC were based at Lang Park, Milton (now the Suncorp Stadium) in the 1920s and 30s. The team provided many State and Australian representatives, particularly when it was the top local club winning championships.

All that running around is thirsty work!
Coach Paul Forrester said that he was delighted the teams got to play at Suncorp in front of over 10,000 spectators.
“Many of the boys were nervous before the game, but once on the pitch they got over their nerves and played really well.
It was also great for the boys to be able to see players like Thomas Broich, Matt Mckay and young gun Jamie McClaren up close.”
