Bardon Latrobe fall to classy Caboolture

The reserves were back in form against Caboolture with the returning Flynn Maloney a real handful. Maloney scored the opening goal around the 20 minute mark before Caboolture equalised and the teams came into the break at 1-1. Chances came for both teams and Bardon Latrobe looked to have won the game when Wang Lame rounded the keeper to give Bardon Latrobe the lead just before the full time whistle.

It wasn’t to be as Caboolture went up the other end and scored second before the final whistle.

The firsts lined up;

Webber (GK), Ant Powell, Elliott, Jones, Johnston, Smart, Pratten (C), Cretois, Mavrik, Allen, Field – Subs – Bertram, Tom Powell, Yasse

After a bright start for Bardon Latrobe, Caboolture quelled the optimism after scoring from their first attack of the day. A neat cross was met by Cleary who headed home from close range.

The next chance came to Arnison who tackled Webber and the ball broke towards goal. Centre-back Jones recovered in time to clear the ball off the line. Caboolture then doubled their lead when the ball bounced around in the Bardon Latrobe box and landed nicely for Sheumack to fire home.

After the break the first big chance fell to Cretois who neatly rounded the keeper but put his shot just wide. Caboolture made it 3-0 after beating the offside trap and after Field was sent off in a clash with Caboolture’s left back. Not long after both Cleary and Sheumack grabbed their second goals of the afternoon. At 5-0, the lively Mavrik dribbled past a few defenders before laying off neatly for substitute Bertram to fire home.

Caboolture were able to add a final goal on the 84 minute mark for the game to finish 1 – 6.
