Bardon Latrobe U14s Division 1 girls continue their winning form

A goal in the final five minutes of the game completed a convincing 2-4 win for the undefeated Bardon Latrobe FC U14 Division 1 girls team on Sunday at Samford, against the Samford Rangers.

The Bardon Latrobe girls are enjoying a fantastic start to the season, maintaining their top-of-the-table form with their excellent fitness, skills and superb teamwork, under the leadership of Senior Club Coach, David Bounds and Assistant Coach, Jose Marinho, for a second year.

Club President, Phil Cowlishaw, praised Coach Bounds, who is also a current player and Assistant Coach of the Men’s Capital Team, as well as ‘an all round great bloke’ – a sentiment which is echoed by the U14 girls and their parents. As parents, we are so grateful to have such a motivated and inspiring coach, developing our girls’ skills and absolute love of the game.

Coach David Bounds reports that coaching the group of young women is very rewarding.

“Their commitment and willingness to learn, develop and participate is second to none and I personally look forward to seeing each of them develop further this season. They are a courageous playing group and also an amazing parent group which is all a junior coach can ask for. It has been a pleasure so far working with them this last year and I can’t wait to see them develop further.”

The team is currently placed at the top of the competition ladder, in their debut season at Division 1 level. The incredible teamwork and spread of talent in the team is reflected in the Football Brisbane Season Stats – with 4 of our team’s players ranking in the top 6 Goal Scorers in the entire competition.

Well done girls! It is an absolute joy watching you train and play each week – courageous, enthusiastic and in the best sporting spirit – coming off the field each and every time having given your all, and always with a smile on your gorgeous faces.

The girls take on Peninsula Power (currently 2nd on the ladder) this Sunday at Redcliffe.
