Solid foundations laid for changing rooms

After two years of planning, fund raising and consultation the foundations of the new four change room facility at Bardon Latrobe FC were poured today.  Premium Builders were awarded the contract in May after a public tender. They hope to complete the project by October.
Club President, Phil Cowlishaw said he was delighted today to see the work commence.
“While Bardon Latrobe has never lacked in community spirit and wonderful culture it has had embarrassingly inadequate facilities for many years now.  As a new President I was very keen to prioritise this problem and get it fixed.
“It has been a long hard journey for us, the volunteer committee, to get to this point. We’ve spent many hours consulting all the stake holders and have worked tirelessly to secure funding.
“It now gives me great pleasure to announce that the wait is over and our 600 plus playing members will enjoy modern, clean and safe amenities by the end of the year,” Phil said.
As the work progresses please be patient, abide by the signage and do not enter the fenced areas. The club apologises for any inconvenience the building work may cause to our members, visitors and local community.
The club would also like to acknowledge the financial support received from the State Government (through Hon Kate Jones) and the federal community sport infrastructure grant (supported by Hon Julian Simmonds) .
