Committee

Our Executive Committee

The committee meets monthly to support club operations and community engagement. If you have a question, concern, or suggestion, we welcome you to get in touch.

Meet your 2026 Committee!

President Gerard Doyle

I’m honoured to serve for my second year as President of Bardon Latrobe FC, a club that has given so much to my family and our community. Like many, my journey started as a MiniRoos parent who stepped up to coach, and that first season ignited a passion for community football. Since then, I’ve coached for over six years, served as an age coordinator, and was also MiniRoos Vice President on the committee.

BLFC is about more than just football, it’s about kids making friends, learning teamwork, and staying active. As President, I’m committed to keeping football fun and accessible while also strengthening pathways for those who want to compete at higher levels.

Our club thrives because of our incredible volunteers, from MiniRoos coaches to our senior Over’s teams, many of whom started here as parents and players. This year I look forward to further integration of our senior, junior, and MiniRoos teams, along with the continued strength and growth of our girls and women’s teams.

See you at Bowman Park!

Secretary Bryony Ascough

This is my second year as secretary of Bardon Latrobe.

I am looking forward to the challenge and opportunity to represent this wonderful club on another level. 2024 will be my fifth season with the Ladies Over 30’s team. My son Bayley has been playing at Bardon since under 6’s. Following the Womens’ World Cup being played in Australia and New Zealand, it is so exciting to be a part of a community soccer club that promotes and encourages all their players – male or female – to enjoy this wonderful game and to have fun.

Treasurer Phil Cowlishaw

Phil has served Bardon Latrobe FC with distinction across many roles, including President, Treasurer, Registrar, and Juniors Vice President, contributing countless hours over the years.

He’s a key member of our grounds crew and has played a major role in infrastructure improvements, most recently helping deliver the upgraded lighting project.

On the field, Phil plays in the Over 45s and is an active juniors referee.

Vice President (MiniRoos) Matt Bromwich

I’ve joined the committee this year after 2 years as U6 coordinator. This will be my 5th year playing football with about 15 of those at Bardon. The community at this club is second to none, and I’m looking forward to helping continue that legacy. Two of my kids are now also playing at Bardon in Miniroos and loving every minute of it.

Vice President (Juniors) Tony Saunders

Tony has been both a coach and player at Bardon Latrobe FC for the past four years. He is the goalkeeper for the Over 45 Division 1 team, who were 2025 Premiership winners, and he was also the recipient of the Club’s Seniors Gold Gloves Award in 2025.

Tony has three boys playing at the club across Miniroos and junior teams, further strengthening his connection to the BLFC community and its future pathways.

He is passionate about creating an enjoyable and inclusive football environment where players feel supported, develop their skills and confidence, and build a genuine love for the game.

Vice President (Seniors) James Downton

I'm looking forward to assisting the committee and the club in the role of Seniors Vice President. I'm looking forward support the framework and being a conduit for our FQPL / Metro's / Overs teams.

I've been involved with the club since the 2020 - 4 years of that Managing one of the O35's teams, taking on a refereeing duties when required, and even a rare assist to the grounds team with working bees / watering in new turf / being let loose on the mower.

My daughter has undertaken 2 years of the Kindy Kickers programme and loved it, so is looking forward to starting U6's this year. I hope for my son to also play at the club when he is old enough.

The club and community spirit here is amazing - I don't believe there is a club out there quite like BLFC.

Facilities Manager Mark Keane

This will be my 11th year being involved with Bardon Latrobe Football Club and in that time there has been significant improvements to the facilities at the club. I endeavour to continue the progress that has been made in supporting football at Bowman Park.

The improvement to the turf at Bowman Park has been the biggest accomplishment for the small group of volunteers who make up the fields team. In 2024 we will see the best turf ever at Bowman Park!

There is always room on the mowing roster if anyone is keen to get involved with the team.

Mark Keane

Registrar Mark Warnock

I’m very happy to join the club as Registrar.

I’ve been around football for many years as a player, age coordinator, Miniroos coach and now registrar.

My role is to ensure a clear and equitable registration process for our members and those interested in joining the club.

Please contact me if you have any questions about registration.
