Community information meeting

Tonight the Bardon Latrobe Football Club held a community information meeting to update residents on our development plans for the club.

The evening was hosted by Naomi Meade and the residents were given the background to the need for the developments from club president Phil Cowlishaw before Seweryn Bialasiewicz took the attendees through an in-depth presentation on the designs for the changing rooms, canteen modernisation and our application for a large storage shed.

The residents provided feedback on the developments and the impact on the park. We’d like to thank the residents for taking the time to attend the evening and their constructive feedback.

  1. Hello, The design of the new facility can easily be modified, and MUST be. The genuine “intent” of the word “consultation” needs to be honoured in good faith. The visual bulk, height and impact of the facility can easily be improved upon, and as a professional in this area this can be stated as a fact. We trust you will be considerate of your neighbours and the local community and make this effort to achieve the best possible outcome and eliminate the requirement for further action. You do note above there was “constructive feedback” from residents but what is missing is your commitment to act on this feedback. We look forward to seeing the ammended plans and next steps in the consultation process. thank you.

    1. Thanks for your comment Tony. The information night was held to discuss the planned upgrades at this Brisbane City Council owned community sports facility. The contracted architect, who kindly attended the meeting, discussed in detail the rational for the design features of the new change room building. The building has already been amended to lessen the impact on the selected area (narrowed). If you would like to volunteer your expertise and services please contact us.
