Bardon Latrobe hosted our annual Senior Presentation event at our clubhouse to present player and team awards to our senior cohort.
Club Awards
President Samuel Irvine Casey gave an address and presented the club awards.
The winner of the Rob Wheeler Spirit of Bardon Latrobe Award was Gerard Doyle. Gerard was acknowldged for his work as miniroos vice president in 2023. Gerard has brought a passion and dedication to the role and is working hard to improve coaching at the club.
The winner ot the Tom Connolly Senior Player of the Year Award was Austyn Boardman. Austyn returned to the club in 2023 and captained the FQPL5 team to promotion. He scored 14 goals in the season and is the first player to receive the award twice.
The Gibby Rowan Clubperson of the Year was awarded to Neil Wallington. Neil, also known as Wally, is a long time volunteer at the club and has always been one of the first people to put their hand up when volunteers have been required. Wally has spent several years involved with the facilities team and in various coaching roles around the club. This season he took over as Over 35s coordinator, led the school holiday clinics and was also instrumental in the clubs celebrations and events for the Women’s World Cup.
The Club also acknowledged the hard work of Onley Chen and the rest of the canteen team for the amazing contribution they made to the club this year
