Priority is given to children whose parents volunteer to coach. We then consider factors like whether players live or attend school in Bardon, Ashgrove, Red Hill, or Paddington.
Children are allocated to teams of up to seven players which train and play together for the length of the season. The season is 18 weeks long with breaks for school holidays.
U6 games follow the national U6 Miniroos structure Playing Formats.
Mixed teams play at Bowman Park.
Girls teams can opt to play in the Mixed competition (all at Bowman Park), or an All Girls competition which rotates play between local clubs, Bowman Park, The Gap or other local venues near Bardon.
Games are always on Saturday mornings, starting around 8am. Fixture times vary and are confirmed closer to the season start.
Training is held once a week on weekdays. Time slots are set after teams are formed, with managers coordinating with coaches and parents. Final times are confirmed around February–March each year.
Registration is approx. $408 (*2026 subject to change). Includes training shirt, team photo, and trophy.
Players need a playing kit (shirt, shorts, socks, boots, shin pads). Most items available at the clubhouse.
We are proud to support girls' participation in football and do offer all-girls teams where possible. However, the number of all-girls teams we can field each season is limited, and we cannot guarantee a place in one. Girls who are not placed in an all-girls team may be allocated to a mixed team. We ask families to be understanding of this — all teams at Bardon Latrobe are welcoming, inclusive environments.
The club is responsible for all team allocations. Bardon Latrobe FC organises players into teams based on age group, the number of registered players, coach availability, and other factors across the whole club. Final team decisions rest with the club's Age Group Coordinators and committee.
Yes — you are welcome to make requests when you register. We do our best to consider every request we receive, however, we cannot guarantee any request will be accommodated. We receive a large number of requests each season, and balancing them fairly across all families is a significant task.
Coaches and managers are parents from the team. No football experience is needed, just enthusiasm! Coaches must hold a QLD Blue Card, and the club provides strong support to help them get started and build confidence.
Bardon Latrobe also provides support for new and existing coaches, learn more at Coaching MiniRoos & Juniors.
Yes. Teams are built around a confirmed coach. Until a parent volunteer comes forward to coach a team, we are unable to finalise it. If you are interested in coaching, please let us know — it is a fantastic way to be involved in your child's season and makes a real difference to the club.

No. Players must play in the age group that corresponds to their year of birth. This is consistent with Football Queensland rules and cannot be varied by the club.
