Our Capital sides travelled to John Frederick Park yesterday to take on two youthful Capalaba Bulldog teams as preparations for the season continue.
In the first KO Capalaba took a 1-0 lead into the half time break. The second half exploded into a goal frenzy with Ant Powell, 48-year-old former reserve coach Adam Meadows and dependable centre back Ben Elliott all notching to bring Bardon to a respectable 4-3 loss.

In the 6pm KO the Bardon team faced a daunting task against a BPL quality reserve side. French talisman, Hugo Crètois gave Bardon an early lead before Will McDermott added a second on the 28′ minute mark. Just two minutes later the youthful Capalaba side rallied and were awarded a spot kick which was converted.

Chances came for both teams with Ant Powell coming the closest to adding to the scores, only to be denied by the woodwork after chipping the keeper. Final score, Capalaba 1 – 2 BLFC.
Our next two Capital preseason games see our sides travel to Westside next week and for the second season in a row, up to Coolum FC in a game organised by Bardon old boy, Tim Lee.
The following week will see us in FFA Cup second round action against St George Willawong. The details of the game are yet to be confirmed but will take place the weekend on 10th-12th February.
