Season overview
Our Under 7 season kicks off just after Easter and continues through to mid-September. This age group is strictly for children born in . If that’s you—feel free to skip ahead to Registration timeline.
If your child was born in a different year, please select the applicable year of birth to find the right information.
Children are allocated to teams of up to seven players which train and play together for the length of the season. The season is 18 weeks long with breaks for school holidays.
U7 games follow the national U7 Miniroos structure Playing Formats.
Mixed teams play at Bowman Park.
Girls teams can opt to play in the Mixed competition (all at Bowman Park), or an All Girls competition which rotates play between local clubs, Bowman Park, The Gap or other local venues near Bardon.
Games are always on Saturday mornings, starting around 8am. Fixture times vary and are confirmed closer to the season start.
Training is held once a week on weekdays. Time slots are set after teams are formed, with managers coordinating with coaches and parents. Final times are confirmed around February–March each year.
Registration is approx. $408 (subject to change). Includes training shirt, team photo, and trophy.
Players need a playing kit (shirt, shorts, socks, boots, shin pads). Most items available at the clubhouse.
Girls-only team competitions are being currently being developed. Mixed teams are common at U6/U7.
When forming teams, we take into account friendship groups, shared schools, and preferences submitted during registration. If your child is new to Under 7s, they will be placed in a team that best suits both their needs and the overall team dynamic.
From experience, we know that new teammates often become new friends.
Priority is given to children whose parents volunteer to coach or manage. We then consider factors like whether players live or attend school in Bardon, Ashgrove, Red Hill, or Paddington.
